Your Anomaly Detected Journey

Six steps that take you from a first confused shift to a clean Veteran clear and a finished journal.

Explore Anomaly Detected Guides

Every system in the game, mapped out: the anomaly catalogue, the five chapter contracts, camera layouts, difficulty tiers, journal collection and badge data.

Anomaly Detected Beginner Guide

A shift is a loop: sweep the camera feeds, compare each room against its correct state, and report what changed before too many anomalies slip past. New players usually lose their first runs to the timer rather than to the monster, so this module covers the opening sweep order, how the report action works, and the camera habits that keep a run alive.

Read the guides
1

Read the contract, note the chapter location, and confirm which difficulty you queued for before the shift starts

2

Sweep every camera feed once without reporting — build a mental baseline of how the rooms should look

3

Use the zoom input (Shift on keyboard, L2 on controller, double tap on mobile) to inspect small props and wall details close up

4

Watch for the anomaly classes in order of reliability: moved or duplicated objects, then lighting changes, then figures in the frame

5

Report immediately once you are confident — hesitating burns the clock and lets additional anomalies stack up

6

Track how many anomalies remain; failing the threshold ends the shift permanently for that contract

7

Play with headphones — several anomalies are audio-cued before they are visible on a feed

Anomaly Detected Journal Completion

Every chapter carries its own journal, and filling one to 100 percent means you have witnessed and logged each of its anomalies at least once. Journal badges are by far the rarest in the game, because a single missed anomaly can cost an entire run. This module is a checklist: what still needs capturing, which anomalies are easy to walk past, and how to plan a dedicated journal run.

Start a journal run
1

Open the journal before queueing and note exactly which entries are still locked for that chapter

2

Queue on a lower difficulty first — the journal records captures regardless of tier

3

Prioritize anomalies that only appear in specific rooms rather than ones tied to a global timer

4

Do not rush the report on a new anomaly type; confirm the capture registers before moving on

5

Run repeat shifts for the same chapter until the counter reads complete — one missed sighting resets the checklist

6

Expect a long grind: only a handful of players hold any chapter journal completion badge

Anomaly Detected Entities and Threats

Not every anomaly is scenery. Some are the thing itself — a shape at the edge of a feed, a pair of eyes in a doorway, a silhouette that only exists on one camera. This module ranks the hostile presences you will meet, explains how each one telegraphs its approach, and covers the jumpscares that catch players who tunnel on a single monitor.

Read the threat profiles

Anomaly Detected Achievements and Badges

The badge list doubles as a difficulty map of the game. There are fifteen badges across the live chapters — a completion badge, a Veteran completion badge, and a journal badge for each location — and the award counts show exactly how brutal each tier is. This module tracks every badge, what unlocks it, and how rare it currently is.

Anomaly Detected Updates and Roadmap

Anomaly Detected is still being built, and the release cadence has been fast: a new chapter roughly every few weeks since launch, plus a Veteran tier added across the earlier maps. The developer has confirmed that further contracts and surveillance sites are in development. This module tracks patch notes, new chapters, and the anomaly balance changes that shift how existing contracts play.

Follow the update history

What is Anomaly Detected?

Anomaly Detected is a Roblox horror game built around a single idea: something in the room has changed, and you are the only one watching. You sit at a bank of surveillance monitors, compare each feed against how the room is supposed to look, and file a report the moment you catch a discrepancy. Furniture shifts, lights flicker, and figures that should not be there appear on camera — miss enough of them and the shift is over for good.

The game ships as a series of contracts rather than one endless map. Five chapters are live — The Residence, The Neighbourhood, The School, The Hospital, and The Mall — and each one is a self-contained location with its own anomaly set and its own journal to complete. Every chapter can be replayed on higher difficulties, including a Veteran tier that very few players ever clear. It was built by solo developer BanuTheCat under the X Core Studios group, and it supports both solo shifts and co-op lobbies of up to eight players.

Camera Observation

Every shift is a memory test. You sweep a bank of feeds, hold the correct look of each room in your head, and catch the one detail that no longer matches.

Anomaly Spotting

Furniture moves, art swaps, lights die and figures appear on a single camera. Report the real changes and ignore the decoys that cost you the shift.

Co-op Lobbies

Up to eight players can split the camera bank, call out anomalies over voice and cover the rooms a solo watcher would have to skip.

Four Difficulty Tiers

Rookie, Normal, Advanced and Veteran change the reporting window and the anomaly spawn rate — Veteran clears sit under one percent on every map.

Because the whole game is observation, this wiki is built around reference material: complete anomaly catalogs, per-room camera notes, difficulty and clear-rate breakdowns, and journal checklists so you always know exactly what you are still missing. New contracts and anomaly packs are confirmed to be in development, so the reference keeps growing with the game.

Anomaly Detected FAQ

How many anomalies are in Anomaly Detected?+

The community currently tracks around 61 anomalies across the five live chapters, though there is no official in-game total published by the developer. Each chapter has its own fixed anomaly pool that can spawn in its rooms, and the pool grows every time a new contract or anomaly pack is added. Treat any number as a point-in-time snapshot rather than a fixed limit.

What happens if I report the wrong anomaly?+

Reporting something that is part of the normal room set wastes the time you could have spent on a real anomaly, and repeated wrong reports push you toward the failure threshold. Because the timer keeps running while you decide, a false report is usually more costly than a few extra seconds of checking. Confirm the change against your mental baseline before you commit.

Why is Veteran mode so hard to clear?+

Veteran tightens the reporting window, increases how quickly anomalies stack up, and shrinks the margin for a wrong call. Roblox badge data puts Veteran clear rates near one percent on the early chapters and well under that on later maps, with only a few hundred players holding any Veteran completion badge. It is designed for players who can already sweep a chapter without hesitating.

How do I complete a chapter journal?+

A journal entry unlocks the first time you witness and correctly report that anomaly during a shift, so completing a journal means seeing every anomaly in a chapter at least once. Captures count on any difficulty tier, which makes lower difficulties the efficient way to grind them. Journal 100 percent badges are the rarest in the game because a single missed anomaly can cost an entire run.

Does Anomaly Detected support co-op?+

Yes. Lobbies support up to eight players, and co-op is the fastest way to cover every camera in a large chapter like The Hospital or The Mall, because each player can watch a different section of the feed bank. The trade-off is coordination: you need a clear way to call out anomalies without talking over each other, and everyone shares the same failure timer.

Ready to Clear Every Chapter?

Start with the beginner guide, learn how anomalies are graded, then work through the chapter walkthroughs and shut down a Veteran run of your own.
